FEATURES OF PAPER AND PAPERBOARD USED FOR INDUSTRIAL PACKAGING
Roll paper
"A
paper machine with a glossy surface on one side, which is made with a Yankee
paper machine, has excellent whiteness, surface gloss, and smoothness, and has
good printability" (JIS). It is a single-gloss paper that is classified
into pure white rolls, S rolls, and G rolls according to the raw material, and
is glossed with a Yankee paper machine with a gloss dryer with a diameter of 5
to 6 m. The front surface has a glaring luster, the back surface is rough, and
the density is low. It is used for wrapping paper for department stores,
sachets, leaflets, lining of cartons, etc., but it is also used for lightweight
industrial wrapping. it look like
Kraft paper
A
general term for strong paper made from Kraft pulp, including Ryosara kraft
paper, streaked kraft paper, and single-gloss kraft paper "(JIS). Made
from softwood, it is brown, has a slightly rough surface, and is inferior in
printability and appearance, but has strong paper strength. It ranges from thin
(40 g / ㎡) to thick (120 g / ㎡), and is used for heavy bags for industrial packaging, gum
tape, paper bags, and base paper for corrugated cardboard.
Oil paper
Oil-treated
base paper made from chemical pulp, used for packaging foods, luxury items,
machinery, etc.
Polyethylene
processed paper
It
is often done by the extruder method. Most of the PE types are low-density PE,
but linear low-density PE may be used to increase resistance. PE-processed
paper has excellent water resistance, moisture resistance, cold resistance,
extensibility, chemical resistance, transparency, heat sealability, oil
resistance, and the like. Moreover, since the permeation of oxygen and carbon
dioxide gas is freely controlled by making a small hole, it is suitable for
packaging vegetables and the like.
Manila ball
The
surface layer is made from bleached chemical pulp, and the middle and back
layers are made from mechanical pulp, unbleached chemical pulp, and deinked
recycled paper. Currently, it is changing to high-grade white paperboard that
uses bleached chemical pulp as the main raw material, but high-grade white
paperboard is also classified as a Manila ball.
White ball
"The
surface layer is bleached chemical pulp, the bottom layer is generally deinked
newspaper waste paper, and the middle and back layers are paperboard using
waste paper such as newspapers and magazines" (JIS). White-lined chips,
which make up the majority of paper containers in Japan, use low-grade recycled
paper for the middle and back layers. It is a collection of paperboard with a
basis weight of 300-600 g / ㎡, and is used for
relatively large paper containers.
Yellow paperboard
Paperboard manufactured mainly from used paper, lime milk-melted straw, etc.,
used for inexpensive assembly boxes, covers, paper tubes, etc., also called
yellow balls. (2) Usually yellow, made only from unbleached straw pulp. Paper
or paperboard (JIS) ". It used to be colored paperboard derived from straw
wood, but now it is in the same category as corrugated cardboard and used
newspaper chip balls, and has a basis weight of 400 g / ㎡, and is widely used for pasting boxes, partitions, and mounts.
